Tokyo indie rock trio LIGHTERS formed in October 2018 around songwriter/guitarist & vocalist Rumi Nagasawa.

In December 2024, bassist Naoya Shimizu and drummer Juon Tahara officially joined as members. The band are fans of Horsegirl, Pavement, Sonic Youth, Beach Boys, Youth Lagoon, Duster and Boards of Canada. Rumi sings in English mostly and is a professional baker by trade.

Lighters released their debut album ‘Swim In The Milk’ in 2021 and the EP ‘America no Koibito’ in 2024 on Later Youth records and have a new album in the works set for 2026.
