Between 1990 and 1994, the New York City based band CODEINE released three groundbreaking records on Sub Pop – “Frigid Stars LP”, “Barely Real”, and “The White Birch” – that have continued to intrigue and inspire. On May 22, the acclaimed reissue label Numero Group will release all three records as vinyl double-albums with cd’s, adding previously unreleased songs, b-sides, demos, and live material. All 6 lp’s will also be available as a limited edition box set with a bonus 7″. To celebrate these releases, the original lineup of Codeine (John Engle, Stephen Immerwahr, Chris Brokaw) will play a short series of live dates – just under 20 shows between April and July 2012, including the All Tomorrows Parties (Tokyo and London) and Primavera Sound (Barcelona and Porto) festivals.
