London, UK SW2 5BZ
18 year spanning, 5 album beast of a UK act that began discordant and mathy, post punk and softened to alt folk country 5 piece. Influenced by Albini's output, The Mekons and Silkworm. The band will play a mixture of ancient and new material and release four LPs from their back catalogue on Damnably on Nov 14 together with '1000 years of Lazarus Clamp' Best-Of compilation.
"articulate and considered lyrics, softly but precisely intoned, over unexpectedly experimental textures and deconstructed skinny guitar licks, with folksy banjo flourishes and gently lowing strings." Sunday Times (Stewart Lee)
Irrepressibly optimistic, quirky-pop pinup boy with no less than 3 super fans, here launching his rock opera album 'Dinosaur Planet'. Formed in 1999, Mercury Prize long-listed, Rolling Stone 'Album of the year', often playing 70 odd shows a year. He did a session on Steve Lamacq, a gig in New York plus had 2 million downloads in 2 weeks for 'Hey Hey 16K'.
Pale Man Made
Fuzzy indie pop from Newcastle's 2 guy/2 girl quartet featuring ex-Spraydog Drummer on drums.
"This is grown-up music, but delivered with a youthful effervescence" SoundsXP
Italian Cat Powerish songstress Teta (Screaming Tea Party/The Catcher Nine) with Sachiko from No Cars and Arrigo Martell as backing band.
Arisen from the embers of 'Embers' with members of Dear Thief, among others, taking influence from a lot of your favourite post-hardcore, prog and art-rock bands. Described by fans as "good", "sexy in parts" and "a bit like an alternative soundtrack to 'The Wicker Man'".
The Splintered Man
Complex finger picking from Simon (smallgang) and Alex (Armchair Songs) playing Sun Kil Moon-esque ditties.
More Bad Times
